Canadian first passport and child passport photos
Photo size: 50 mm wide x 70 mm high (2 inches x 2 3/4 inches). The face height must measure between 31 mm (1 1/4 inches) and 36 mm (1 7/16 inches), from the chin to the natural top of the head.
The following must be printed on the back of one photo:
- The name and complete address of the photo studio, and the date the photo was taken.
- "I certify this to be a true likeness of (applicant's name)." Your guarantor should also sign the back of the photo with their full name.
- Please dress in darker colors for good contrast and avoid white clothing.
Canadian renewal passport photo

Canadian citizenship photo
Frame size: 50 mm wide x 70 mm high (2 inches x 2 3/4 inches). The photo must show a full front view of the head, with the face centered and the top of the shoulders visible. The head size, measured from chin to crown, must be between 31 mm (1 1/4 inches) and 36 mm (1 7/16 inches).
The following must be printed on the back of both photos:
- The name and complete address of the photo studio, and the date the photo was taken.
- Your full name.
